Sitting here watching the last sunrise of September with mixed feelings. I love SUMMER and all the heat and fun outdoors! But I do love FALL too, why??? because I love PUMPKINS!!!! Yes, I drink pumpkin spice coffee and eat pumpkin rolls and absolutely LOVE pumpkin soup. PLUS ....... I love love love to see the leaves change colors! I am what they call a LEAF PEEPER!!! (i think they call it that LOL) OH and I love to walk outside in the morning and feel a cool crisp breeze (not COLD by any means) knowing that it will warm up nicely during the day and I will be able to get out and hike somewhere beautiful!
Autumn is BITTERSWEET but nevertheless it has arrived and I need to go shopping and get me a PUMPKIN! oh and some new cozy socks too!

Home made vegetable quiche
Shortcrust pastry:
1 cup Flour
1 cup S.R.Flour
pinch of salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup water
Method:
Sift the flours, add salt, rub in butter lightly with your finger tips then pour the water in the center slowly, making a stiff dough.Roll as desired.
Ingredients for my Quiche:
I made a large one used 8 eggs, milk, garlic, red onion, chives, bacon, grated cheese and carrot, chopped up mushrooms and capsicum, sage, parsley, spinach and silver beet and slice tomatoes.
I saute the onions, garlic, capsicum, mushrooms bacon, in a little butter or olive oil first. then add the eggs, milk, herbs, cheese, carrots spinach, silver beet ect in a bowl then add the rest of the cooked ingredients.. pour into the dish of yummy shortcrust pastry, you don't have to blind bake it works out good. Then decorate with sliced tomatoes.
